The Council is a member of Pennsylvania’s Rapid Response team for dislocated workers. In this role the Council provides supplementry services for workers who have lost their jobs due to a a downsizing or closing.  Our transition team specialist facilitates meetings to assist displaced workers going through the transition from unemployment to re-employment.

As Project Manager for the Northeastern Pennsylvania Pre-Apprenticeship Initiative the Council has formed a partnership with the Building and Construction trades. The “Build Your Future” program prepares high school seniors to take an apprenticeship aptitude exam for one of the building trades such as the Carpenters, Electricians, Iron Workers, Painters, etc. The “Frame Your Future” program is a career awareness program for students in grades 9 through 11. The goal of both of these programs is to inform young people of the opportunities that exist in the building and construction trades for careers with family sustaining wages and good benefits.
